Arthritis
Arthritis is a general term that refers to over 100 different conditions involving joint pain or joint disease. It affects people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds, though it’s more commonly diagnosed in women.
Bursitis

Cervical Spondylosis
Normal wear and tear on the spinal discs occurs as we age, leading to a condition called spondylosis. This can develop in any part of the spine.
Complex Regional Pain Syndrome
Pain in a limb—either the arm or leg—without a clear cause is known in the medical field by various names, such as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, or causalgia.
Degenerative Disc Disease
Degenerative disc disease is a leading cause of back pain. As we age, the discs between our vertebrae gradually wear down and lose their flexibility and cushioning ability.
Discogenic Back Pain
Discogenic back pain is a condition caused by damage or degeneration of the discs in the spine. These discs act as cushions between the bones (vertebrae) in your spine.
Facet Syndrome
Facet syndrome refers to a condition that affects the small joints at the back of the spine, known as facet joints. This condition is often associated with lower back pain.
Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia is a long-term disorder marked by persistent, widespread pain and sensitivity in multiple areas of the body for at least three months.
Herniated Disk
A herniated disc is a spinal condition that can lead to back pain, as well as numbness or tingling sensations that radiate down one or both legs.
Hip Joint Arthritis
Arthritis is a condition that leads to inflammation in the joints throughout the body. When it affects the hip, it can cause discomfort, particularly during movement.
Joint Arthritis
Joint arthritis refers to a collection of medical conditions that involve inflammation in one or more joints.
Knee Arthritis

Metabolic Bone Conditions (MBD)
Metabolic Bone Disorders (MBD) is a broad term used to describe a range of conditions and diseases where the normal bone remodeling process is disrupted.
Migraine Headaches
When someone who has never had a migraine hears the term, they might assume it’s just a very intense headache. In reality, migraines can be completely incapacitating and may persist for several days.
Muscle Strains
Muscles are soft tissues made up of thousands of stretchy fibers grouped together and covered by a thin layer.
Musculoskeletal Pain
Musculoskeletal pain is a widespread issue with a variety of underlying causes, which can make it challenging for doctors to pinpoint the exact source.
Myelopathy
Myelopathy refers to an injury or dysfunction of the spinal cord, typically caused by significant compression or narrowing.
Myofascial Pain Syndrome (MPS)
Myofascial Pain Syndrome (MPS) is a long-lasting condition marked by discomfort or pain in the soft tissues that surround muscles.
Occipital Neuralgia
Neuralgia refers to nerve pain resulting from irritation or damage to a nerve. Occipital neuralgia is a specific type of neuralgia that affects the occipital nerves.
Osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis happens when the cartilage — the tough, slippery tissue that covers the ends of bones where they meet.
Osteoporosis
According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, nearly 10 million Americans have the condition, while another 44 million have low bone density, increasing their risk of developing osteoporosis.
Pinched Spinal Nerve
A pinched spinal nerve is a condition that can lead to pain in the neck, shoulders, arms, or upper body.
Piriformis Syndrome
The piriformis muscle is located deep in the buttocks and connects the lower spine (sacrum) to the upper thigh bone (femur) on both sides of the body.
Plantar Fasciitis
Treat plantar fasciitis with expert care to reduce heel pain, improve mobility, and restore daily comfort.
Postlaminectomy Syndrome
Spinal surgeries are commonly performed to correct structural problems or other issues that cause back pain.
Rotator Cuff Injury
The shoulder joint is an intricate structure, relying on a fine-tuned balance of muscles and tendons to function properly.
Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction
The sacroiliac (SI) joint is where your spine connects to your pelvis, located at the base of the spine near the tailbone.
Sacroiliitis
Scoliosis refers to an abnormal sideways curvature of the spine. It most often begins during the growth spurt that occurs just before puberty.
Scheuermann’s Disease (Kyphosis)
Scheuermann’s disease is a spinal condition that causes an excessive forward curve of the upper back, giving it a hunched appearance.
Sciatica
Sciatica refers to pain, weakness, or numbness that travels along the sciatic nerve, which runs from the lower back through the buttocks and down the leg. It usually affects only one side of the body.
Scoliosis
Scoliosis refers to an abnormal sideways curvature of the spine. It most often begins during the growth spurt that occurs just before puberty, but it can also develop in younger children or later in adulthood.

Spinal Stenosis
Spinal stenosis is a condition characterized by the narrowing of the spinal canal, which can lead to nerve compression and result in pain or discomfort.

Facts about pain
If you are suffering from a chronic pain issue, you are not alone. At least one in 10 adults or 1.5 billion people worldwide suffer from some chronic pain condition on a daily basis. Chronic pain can be caused by many reasons, but the most common are conditions affiliated with back injuries, headache, joint pain, arthritis, and cancer. Chronic diseases such as fibromyalgia or neuropathy can be also a reason.
Chronic pain is a pain that lasts for at least three months. It is associated with a wide range of injuries and illnesses but can be a disease itself. It prevents a person from working and enjoying any daily activities. People who suffer from severe chronic pain often feel depressed, isolated, angry, and guilty. The level of pain that is felt also depends on a number of reasons such as: previous bad experiences with pain, chronic sleep disorder, anxiety, etc.
Most common pain conditions
The most common pain conditions reported by National Institute Health Statistics are:
- low back pain (27%)
- severe headache and migraine pain (15 %)
- neck pain (15%)
- facial pain (3%)
Diagnosis and treatment
When you visit your doctor for the first time try to describe your pain in as many little details as possible even though it may be hard to do so. Doctors often use pain scale tests that help rate the pain level and order imaging tests to find out more about the causes of chronic pain.
There are many treatment options available that range from traditional medications to interventional therapies.
